India was bowled out for 224 shortly after the start of the final act of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at The Oval, London. With the contest on the edge, England took hold of the initiative first, significantly pressuring the visitors in this decider.
India Batting on a Seamer-Friendly Track
With England on a fiery, precise seam attack over a swell pitch, Indian batting yet again bowed down to the ascendancy of pace bowling. Early wickets fell in quick succession. Exhibiting determination under pressure was Karun Nair, who steadfastly built a half-century and spared a faint hope.
Backing Nair was young-all-rounder Washington Sundar, who contributed valuable 26 runs and struggled with Nair to steady the innings after early jolts. Sai Sudharsan gave a fairly steady 38 but, unfortunately, the middle and lower order failed to cash in on starts or form solid stands.
England Bowling Down Unabated
Led by England’s aggressive bowling duo of Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue, the bowling decisively took advantage of the swinging conditions.
